"Late 18th Century Neoclassical Clock With Poet"
Elegant gilded bronze table clock featuring a poet's figure on the upper section. The figure holds a sheet of paper and a pen in each hand, as well as wearing a rich hat and elegant clothing. The poet is seated on a rock, which has not been gilded, leaving the bronze in its original color. The lower section of the clock features alternating plant motifs and scrolls, with parts of armor in the center. The clock is in working order and features a Roman numeral dial and a chime that strikes the hours and half-hours. The movement also features the initials "F.C.", identifying the clockmaker. This is a very elegant clock, capable of furnishing any space with refinement. French manufacture from the neoclassical period, late 18th century.
