This type is the very quintessence of the age-old cut and thrust fighting sword, falls in a transitional period from the late Medieval to early Renaissance.
Baring the stamp of a Venetian smith, its blade more reminiscent of early medieval Arming style swords than of the traditional Stocco.

The rest is faded but the beautiful design of this sword can be seen in the high detail and care which was taken to craft such an exceptional piece.
Starting from the pommel which is a round medieval style large pommel with copper / brass embellishments at the centre, The grip appears to have good age to it.
