This dagger is quiet a find being in a fine state considering its age and having a scabbard. This dagger has had some from preserved or restoration work done.
The hilt’s design with a sculpted wooden grip of ebony and multiple shaped inlays of ivory. The pommel made of two exposed discs and brass fittings.
The blade is in excellent shape with some slight corrosion on the tip, it is the traditional double edge design. The blade has a single fuller on either side with perforation in the fuller. The false edge closes to the guard has a brass thumb rest. The blade is marked on either side close to the point with ” X X”.
The dagger is accompanied by a scabbard that is an antique, this is possibly a later addition.
