1837, Capture of Constantine - Algerian flintlock rifle moukhala Rifle which has retained its collection label, but is not very legible. "1837 Capture of Constantine weapon of honor given by Colonel??????????" Acquired at auction in Dijon (France). Rifle which belonged to General G. (1874 – 1941), then remained in the family. Plate with the miquelet decorated with chiseled brass. The lock spring is missing. Wooden stock inlaid with cylindrical elements in brass and bone (or ivory). The wood is also decorated with cut silver plates set with red coral cabochons. European barrel with sides in the first third then round to the muzzle. The barrel is held to the wood by seven rings in chased and embossed silver. A weapon of fine quality and a fine testimony to the conquest of Algeria by France.
