French or Dutch school from the early 19th century. Pair of oil on copper paintings, in their original giltwood frames from the Empire Restoration period. The first painting depicts a village fire, the night scene, where the glow of the flames is reflected in the river. We can see the villagers fleeing and those looking for water to put out the fire. The second painting depicts a cottage, in a landscape with a blue sky. Very fine paintings, with many details. Period early 19th century, like the frames. Beautiful set, one of those small objects details that complete an Empire or early 19th century decor to create an authentic atmosphere. Here presented in a beautiful frame.
