Let yourself be seduced by this pretty censer with a relief sculpted figurine representing a child in a kimono. It is complete with its openwork lid. There is also an enameled cartouche with a signature or symbol of benevolence painted by hand (see photo). Small accident on the edge of the receptacle (see photo). Traces of use. "Sumida Gawa ceramics take their name from the river near which they were created in the Asakusa district near Tokyo in Japan. These are heavy-looking stoneware with a very shiny glaze, most of which have decorations applied in relief. The paste is fired at a low temperature.
