Pierrot or Caraco à la Suzanne in reference to the Marriage of Figaro (1778) from a private mansion in Aix en Provence and dating from the Louis XVI period. Raspberry satin highlighted with white piping. Fitted English cut with three-quarter elbow sleeves and bust with crossed and pinned panels. Ribbon tab tied in mottled taffeta at the branch. V-shaped back highlighted with a pet-en-l'air with double ruffles. Fully lined in ecru cotton; with an interior waist belt and eyelet tabs for the interior lacing. Small stains on the ribbons and slight dusting of the lining, the silk has no stains or holes, apart from a few tiny pinholes. Good general condition of conservation. Non-wearable collector's item;
