Exceptional Armchair Stamp DEBON, with Inventory Number and Mark of the Chateau des Tuileries. We wanted to preserve this Armchair in its original condition. This Armchair measures 96 CM in Height, 63 CM in Width and 53 CM in Depth, Seat height 43 CM About the author François Debon (active at the end of the 18th century) François Debon, furniture carpenter, originally from Normandy, worked as a free craftsman, in Paris, rue Saint-Nicolas, during the time of Louis XVI, supplying the trade with wood for seats and couches. He later continued his industry at rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, n° 105. In 1811, the Imperial Furniture Repository asked him for beech wood works for the salons of ministers and grand officers of the Crown. His son André-François, also a carpenter and chairmaker, was born in Caen in 1765 (according to the Dictionary... by F. de Salverte).
