"Carrara Marble Statuary Bust"
Important bust in Carrara marble statuary representing a young woman with a soft and idealized face, her hair swept back in the style evoking the female portraits of the 18th century. The drapery, richly worked, uncovers a shoulder and envelops the bust with a refinement characteristic of the decorative statuary of the Belle Époque. Jacques BOERO, sculptor of Italian origin (born in Genoa), was a student of PUECH Denis and exhibited notably at the salons of 1912 and 1914. His work is marked by a search for softened naturalism and by the heritage of neoclassicism, often applied to female busts and historical representations (Marie-Antoinette). His signature and his exhibition in official circuits ensured him a place among the recognized sculptors of the end of the 19th century.
