Imposing female bust in finely sculpted white marble, signed on the back J. Bourgeot and dated 1887, resting on a red griotte marble base decorated with floral ornaments in gilded bronze and on a carved walnut column in the Louis-XVI style. The treatment of the face, the clarity of the modeling and the delicate rendering of the lace and drapery testify to an academic know-how typical of French sculpture of the end of the 19th century.
