"Pair Of Large Marble And Gilt Bronze Vases, 19th Century"
Superb pair of baluster vases in red veined marble, richly mounted in finely chiseled gilt bronze. Each vase is supported by an elegant tripod base with claw feet and foliate scrolls. The body, decorated with three winged cherub heads, connected by a central neo-classical motif, bears witness to remarkable chiseling work. The upper part is highlighted by an openwork mount decorated with foliage and arabesques. French work from the second half of the 19th century, of great quality of execution, combining the warmth of red marble with the richness of gilt bronze. This pair of vases is in good original condition.
