Wooden sculpture called "Yipwon", presented and sold mounted on a base. The Yipwon is one of the most stylized and symbolic objects of the Sepik River region. These sculptures are placed in the Haus Tambaran (ceremonial house) and are closely linked to the warrior world. Its other name, wanleg (from the English "one leg") in pidgin English designates all the figures of this style found in the Korewori River area. Here carved in a root (wood knot visible on the back).
