Hand Drum, Traditional Instrument, Oceanic Art, Tribal Art, Papua New Guinea
Beautiful patina of use for this hand drum or "Kundu" collected in the Blackwater area in Papua New Guinea. Traditional instrument decorated with engraved tribal designs and cowrie shells. The hand drums or "kundus", very symbolic for the Papuans because they symbolize the voices of the ancestors, are objects that are difficult to acquire... Wood, natural pigments, recycled threads and rubber, shells. Very good tribal sounds. Lack in the lower part visible in the photos. Field photo by David Godreuil. Shipping fee included.
