François Théodore Gechter (1795-1844) - French sculptor, graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He studied under Antoine Jean Gros and François Joseph Bosio. In 1824, he made his debut at the Salon, creating small costumed sculptures. In the 1840s, he founded his own foundry workshop and exhibited his works in numerous domestic and foreign galleries, including Paris, London, and Berlin. In 1837, he was awarded the Order of the Legion of Honour.
