Late 19th Century French Or Italian Gilt Metal Jewelry Box/music Box
A late 19th-century French or Italian gilt-metal musical jewellery casket/music box, of rectangular form, the exterior cast in relief with flowers, foliage, urns, and classical busts, the interior lined in blue plush. Lifting the lid triggers the internal music mechanism.

Condition: There is a hairline split or join at the left side of the front of the lid (see images). There is moderate wear to the gilding. The key turns the lock, but the lock does not catch the loop on the lid. The musical mechanism works well, with a baroque-style classical tune.
