""the Port Of Le Havre" Old Painting"
Interesting painting from the beginning of the 19th century representing the entrance to the port of Le Havre with the François 1er tower since destroyed. A little naive in style, this painting is a charming document. It bears a signature "Vernet" in my opinion unrelated to the Vernet lineage, famous marine painters. The architectural details are interesting as are the characters in Norman customs. The condition is average but quite salvageable. Cleaning and restoration will restore all its brilliance to this old painting, worthy of interest on several levels. It can be dated to the 1830s. Dimensions: with frame 50cm by 42cm. On view 39cm by 31cm. Original frame in the state.
