19th Century Marquetry Miniature Portrait
Portrait of a man made of marquetry of different types of wood as well as mother-of-pearl and ivory. This meticulous work is of remarkable quality. The original frame has some visible gaps in the photos. The person represented is undoubtedly a celebrity of the time but I have not found his identity, politician, writer, artist..... This astonishing work has some scratches, accentuated by the flash of photos which could easily be attenuated. Dimensions with frame: 12cm by 8.5cm.
