Very beautiful study in oil painting on paper by the well-referenced Russian artist Paul Chmaroff (1874/1950). After the revolution of 1917 he came to live in France and died there in 1950. Monogram incised in the painting at the bottom left. Provenance: Sale of his studio at Maitre Dupuy in Honfleur in the 1970s. This is a study of great liveliness for a painting representing bathers, a recurring theme in his work. This study is on the edge of abstraction and very colorful.
