Return From Egypt Chest Of Drawers In Cuban Mahogany, Empire Period – Early 19th Century

Superb Retour d'Egypte chest of drawers in solid Cuban mahogany and veneer, topped with an elegant Belgian granite marble. It opens with three large drawers of good height, whose fronts, veneered with Mahogany leaves arranged in an open book, reveal a refined grain and a deep color. Each drawer is adorned with original gilt bronze lion head ring handles, as well as a period lock with its threaded entry and adjusted Empire key. The interior of the cabinet is carefully provided with wooden dust covers, highlighting the quality of its manufacture. The side uprights are magnificently dressed with chiseled bronze caryatids, resting on sheathed pilasters, ending in a molded pedestal also in bronze. The chest of drawers rests on a protruding plinth and its front legs are distinguished by powerful claws carved in blackened wood, in the style of "lion's paws". With its harmonious proportions, the richness of its ornaments and the nobility of its wood, this chest of drawers, more than two centuries old, perfectly preserved and restored, combines elegance and functionality with its spacious drawers and superb fittings.**********Period: Empire, early 19th centuryPerfect condition after restoration in our workshop.Waxed finish.Delivery on quotation in France and internationallyDimensions:Height: 90 cmWidth: 133 cmDepth: 61 cmReference: 250625.2
