The rosewood case closes with a lid decorated with a net and a small rectangular silver plate. The interior is lined with crimson velvet and has two compartments for bullets and primers. Two small holes received replacement chimneys, which have disappeared, but can be easily found. The cover of the lid is struck with a floral motif.
This case contains a pair of chest pistols, accompanied by all the accessories necessary for its use: bullet mold, chimney remover, oiler, notebook box. All the ivory accessories are magnificently crafted. The pistol chests are chiseled with the line and are made of bronzed metal highlighted with gold palmettes. The hammers, also chiseled, follow the shape of a dolphin and are also decorated with a gilded palmette. The top of the chests and the breech tails are chiseled. The top of the chests are decorated with a silver inlay surrounded by palms. The underside of the chiseled chests is adorned with a fan of gold and silver inlays.
The bronzed barrels are decorated with silver threads and a golden frieze. The sight is silver. The muzzle is decorated with a silver thread and a gold thread.
The stocks are ivory. They carry a silver thumb piece. The silver cap has a housing closing with a lid carved with a head of Minerva. This piece of high quality, although anonymous, can only be the work of a great arquebusier.
Circa 1850
