Rare and authentic reliquary in the shape of a cross, openwork and filigree silver mount, decorated with flowers and foliage, with upper bail.

Description

The center is closed by a cut glass in the shape of a cross, containing a fragment of the True Cross (Ex Ligno SS. Crucis DNJC), visible on a background of cut gold paper
.On the reverse, the relics are held by red silk threads and sealed with a red ecclesiastical wax seal (seal preserved, with original cord).

Origin: Italy or Rome, monastic work.
Period: 18th century.
Dimensions: 9 × 6 cm (the cross)

Condition:

Good general condition, wear from use, seal preserved with original cord.
