Rare and evocative object of Mexican folk devotion, consisting of a carved wooden support in the shape of a shoe, entirely decorated with hand-applied metal milagros.
It features a beautiful antique patina, visible both on the wooden support and on the metal elements. Milagros are small traditional ex-votos, widespread in Mexico since the colonial period: devotional offerings left in gratitude or as a request for protection, healing, or divine intercession.
Hearts, body parts, symbols, and figures are applied to crosses, specific shapes, panels, or sacred images, transforming the object into a true map of faith, lived experience, and hope. Each milagro tells a story of a wish, a grace received or invoked, making these artifacts deeply personal and unique. In this case, the shoe shape takes on a strongly symbolic value: it represents the journey, protection along the path, and the desire for return, progress, or salvation.
