Osmond Romieux (1826 - 1908) French Navy Captain, draughtsman and watercolorist known by the surname "Osmond Romieux" Traveled to South America and the Near East, he explored Lebanon in the 1860s, a country with historical ties to France. There is a very beautiful book published with reproductions of his watercolors. This beautiful mid-19th century composition, a mixed technique of watercolor and pencil, reproduces the promenade of the "tapadas" or covered women in the boulevard of an old neighborhood, in Lima, Peru.
