Stamped Jean Susse – Beautiful Mid-century Money Changer’s Desk – Regency Period
Artist: Jean Susse Maître En 1762
A mid-century money changer's desk with inlaid rosewood and rosewood decoration forming frames.
It opens with two doors framing 4 central drawers on the front and has a movable top that unfolds on two steel compasses.
The latter reveals a leather-covered writing desk as well as two flaps revealing compartments and a secret.
The belts are animated, the legs arched.

. He was a deputy of his corporation.
In 1785, he moved from rue de la Bûcherie to rue St Julien-Le-Pauvre, where he was still working in 1791.
