18th Century Silver Tastevin Or Patronymic Wine Cup,
Artist: Porte Des Poinçons Du Xviiie Siècle
Beautiful small tastevin in solid silver, 18th century or earlier; its receptacle has the specific shape of a Bordeaux tastevin.
The ring forming the grip seems to have been added later, its decoration possibly features two birds' heads facing each other holding a pearl or other (note that a figurative hallmark seems to be well struck in the center of this small oval surface).
Around the edge the letters of the surname ME are chiseled and three hallmarks of the 18th century are struck on the upper edge, largely illegible, two are reduced by half and the third is barely visible for a tiny part of its rim.
If you have any questions, we are at your disposal.
