19th-century Gift Box Or Glove Box, Napoleon III, Thuja Wood Magnifying Glass, Brass, Pink Silk Upholstery
Beautiful antique rectangular box or glove case from the Napoleon III period (19th century).
The piece is made of solid wood veneered with thuja burl marquetry.
Key Features
Materials: Precious wood with burl veneer featuring swirling patterns and a varnished finish.
Details: Features a small (blank) cartouche or brass plaque on the top.
Hinges and lock in good condition (key is missing).
Beautiful pink silk upholstery on the inside of the lid and smooth silk lining on the other interior surfaces; the bottom is padded.
Period: Napoleon III style and period (Second Empire, late 19th century).
* Good condition * (however, please note a small chip in the veneer in one upper corner, which is fortunately barely noticeable).
