Shagreen Box 1930

Rectangular shagreen box from the 1930s. The lid, decorated with cut sides, is adorned with a thin ivory fillet. The interior is veneered with mahogany. Good condition, note some wear (black stain) on the lid and a slight vertical crack. Shagreen leather is a material made from the skin of sharks or rays. Shagreen was used in the 18th century to create cases and was rediscovered in the 1930s for the creation of furniture, boxes, etc. Shipping costs to France by Colissimo with tracking: €25.
