Walnut sculpture of beautiful dimensions: 35 cm X 29 cm representing the "Lion of Lucerne" This sculpture commemorates the valiant Swiss mercenaries who defended the Tuileries on August 10, 1792. The initial project was designed by the famous Swedish artist Thorvaldsen and the execution was entrusted to Ahorn in 1820. Our panel is a replica of the Monument of Lucerne sculpted second half of the XIX. The sculpture is of beautiful quality and the walnut has acquired a beautiful polish.
