Japanese Porcelain Vase, 19th Century
A Japanese porcelain vase, known as Imari porcelain, dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, decorated with pagodas and small flowers in cartouches. Within this very dense decoration, there is a crack that begins at the neck and extends into the wider section. It is difficult to see in the photos because the decoration is so dense. It does not affect the vase's sturdiness, as one of the characteristics of Japanese porcelain is its thickness. Late 18th or early 19th century.
