Provençal Landscape By Henri Brugnot
Landscape representing a village perched on top of a hill and located at the foot of a stream. The village may be located near Uzès where the painter settled in the last years of his life. It is a pastel on paper of a substantial format: 94 cm X 42 cm, the painter used two sheets for the composition. The pastel has a beautiful composition, the colors are warm, it is signed H. Brugnot and dated 36. Henri Brugnot 1874 - 1940 was a student of Gustave Moreau and he received an honorable mention at the Salon des Artistes in 1901.
