Tibetan dignitary's coat or Chuba between 1880 and 1920. Electric blue Chinese damask satin background with large badges representing Taoist symbols. Polychrome silk floche embroidery with floral bouquets and dragon badges. Double-breasted front closure with five loops and chiseled brass bell buttons (one button missing). The black silk embroidery around the edge is damaged, especially at the neck (see last photos), the rest of the blue silk being in excellent condition. Original pastel sky blue cotton lining. Clean and no stains or holes. Good overall condition.
Dimensions: Large size. Height 130 cm, chest 168 cm, waist 160 cm, shoulders 60 cm, sleeves 56 cm, hem circumference 239 cm.
