"Art Deco Expansion Project For The Saint-blaise Church In Vichy (allier). [1920s]. "
Gouache and watercolor. 74 x 98.5 cm, in a frame (without glass) of 83.5 x 108 cm. Four small stains. Title top left: "St Blaise Church, Expansion Project". Elevations of the side facade and the main facade of the expansion project by Vichy architects Jean Lioger and Antoine Chanet, to whom we owe in Vichy the Petit Casino (Valery Larbaud cultural center), the Radio Hotel and the town hall. The new Notre-Dame-des-Malades church, an Art Deco building in reinforced concrete topped with a huge copper-clad dome, was built between 1925 and 1931, attached to the old Saint-Blaise church to enlarge it. It was fully completed in 1956. This large, brightly colored drawing, similar to a line drawing signed by the two architects and preserved in the heritage collections of the city of Vichy, could be a presentation drawing of the project.
