The trees are adorned with autumn colors, while the Alpine peaks are already covered in snow. They stand out against the blue sky and are reflected in the river water.
The foreground elements (rocks, trees) are treated differently from the others. The brush has hatched the colors, creating a beautiful relief effect.
The work is signed lower right. It is clean and in good condition. Two restorations are visible on the back, invisible on the pictorial layer. It is offered in a sculpted and molded frame, glazed gray on white.
This painting was created by Louis Combalot, a painter and watercolorist from Isère active in the first half of the 20th century. He painted the landscapes of his native region, Dauphiné.
