Elegant Consulate period barber's table made from a magnificent flamed mahogany veneer. On the front, it opens with three drawers topped with a niche compartment, framed by sheathed uprights decorated with busts and caryatid feet in blackened carved wood.
The whole rests on front legs in the form of lion paws in blackened wood. The back legs are sheathed, in mahogany veneer. The upper top, in gray Sainte-Anne marble, underlines the sober and refined aesthetic of this piece. The latter is fixed on rails revealing a pivoting mercury mirror.
Under this top, there is a drawer whose opening, for practicality, is accessible on the right.

Very good condition. Restored by a cabinetmaker.

Consulate period, Return from Egypt, around 1800.
Castle fire mark, probably that of Rambouillet.
