Jean Louis Auguste LAUDY (1877-1956) is a painter from the Netherlands.
Oil on mahogany panelSigned lower left
Dimensions: 78 x 60 cm without frame

He studied at the Fine Arts Schools of Brussels and Antwerp and became a member of the Royal Academy of Belgium. He excelled in painting flowers and portraits, he was one of the portraitists of King Albert I, Belgian Royal family. Jean Laudy belonged to the post-impressionist movement of painters, he liked to combine the contrast of colors.

Our painting is a modernist composition where bouquets of brightly colored flowers, lemons and ceramics are juxtaposed. A bright light spreads over a milky background. The touch is lively and light.
