Louis XVI-era Backgammon Or Tric-trac
Artist: Feuerstein Joseph
A very beautiful Louis XVI-period Tric-Trac made of solid mahogany, stamped Joseph FEUERSTEIN (1733–1809), who was granted master status in April 1767.
Originally from Bregenzerwald in Tyrol, he worked in Paris, in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine.
The Tric-Trac table is crafted from solid mahogany with an ebony center panel. It features two drawers positioned diagonally opposite each other. The four legs are fluted and fitted with gilded bronze feet.
With its tabletop covered in camel-colored leather on one side, it can be used as a desk or a game table on the side with green felt.
The Tric-Trac has retained its original checkers as well as its silver-plated bronze candlesticks with the two antique leather cups.
