Large 20th century sculpture from the Parrot* collection.
Beautiful patina, the material resembles reconstituted sandstone but has the appearance of solid sandstone, and the weight is at least 10 kilograms.
Life-size, our Buddha head is very decorative, it measures 41.5 cm high, in addition the light smile and half-closed eyes bring calm and serenity.

* Jean-François Parot, born in 1946 and died in 2018, had a brilliant diplomatic career, during which he was notably stationed in Saigon as Consul General from 1982 to 1986.
Passionate about oriental civilization, he built up an important collection of Chinese ceramics and sculptures from Southeast Asia where he lived, at the Château de Missillac in Loire-Atlantique.
A great scholar and connoisseur of the 18th century, he is the author of the thrilling adventures of Nicolas Le Floch, adapted for television and comics, which achieved immense success both in France and abroad.
His library represented a moving testimony to the taste of this great scholar and tireless worker for classical literature and also constitutes the rich source which nourishes his novels, both full of verve and great fidelity to the spirit of the 17th century.
