Officer's Bedside Table In Mahogany And Mahogany Veneer, Empire Period, Early 19th Century
Rare bedside table called "officer's" in mahogany and flamed mahogany veneer, from the Empire period. This small piece of furniture is equipped with two side handles in gilded brass which facilitated the movement of this type of furniture frequently used by officers during military campaigns. Our piece of furniture is in a beautiful state of conservation but obviously presents some wear without gravity due to its very function (see photo 12: rear corner of the restored marble, small cracks in the veneer etc...). The curtain works perfectly but does not have a system allowing it to remain open in a fixed manner. The back of our piece of furniture being veneered in a very beautiful mahogany, this bedside table can be positioned in the middle of the room.
