A very fine Napoleon III period clock in the Louis XVI style, signed on the mechanism plate "S. Marti et Cie," a clockmaker listed in the Tardy dictionary of French clockmakers. Constructed of white Carrara marble with two columns adorned with Corinthian capitals, the space between the columns is occupied by a square cage with four thick, beveled glass panes housing a beautiful sunburst pendulum. At the top, a covered vase with wide handles. The enamel dial is decorated with colorful painted garlands and accompanied by fine gilded hands, protected by glass.

Original mechanism without modification, striking on the hours and half-hour on an antique bell.
