Description:
It is framed in a carved wooden vitrine box (without glass), typical of icons for travel or domestic veneration.
The icon is covered with a finely engraved and cut silver metal riza (or oklad), revealing the faces, hands and feet of the Virgin and the Christ Child, painted on a panel.
The floral details engraved in the halo and the vestments add a remarkable decorative richness.
