WINE PITCHER in pewter, shaped with a shoulder, flared foot and straight oblique goblet. Thumb rest with tassels.
Stamped ownership initial: R.
Height: 26 cm.
CAEN, Circa 1800

In good condition, consolidation at the junction of the lid and the tongue is noted.
Lower Normandy produced two types of pitchers, one baluster-shaped (type II) and the other shoulder-shaped (type I) presented here. These pitchers were the wine measures of the Ancien Régime.
