"Spherical Gilt Bronze Clock, Late Empire Style, Napoleon III Period"
A rare French decorative clock from the second half of the 19th century, made during the Second Empire (circa 1860–1880), in a late Empire style with Louis XVI influences. The white enamel dial is enhanced with black and gilt Arabic numerals, with delicate hand-painted floral garlands. Note: visible chips on the dial enamel. Openwork hands in gilded brass. Condition: good general condition, light wear from time, enamel chips, movement not tested and in need of servicing. Dimensions: 28 cm high. Collector's item, emblematic of the imperial aesthetic and the expertise of 19th century French bronze makers. Style: Late Empire, Louis XVI elements, Napoleon III period
