"Frédéric Menguy (1927-2007), Oil On Canvas From The 1970s “bouquet Of Flowers”."
MENGUY (Frédéric), born in Paris on January 28, 1927 and died in Paris on March 23, 2007 (Ec. Fr.). Passionate about drawing and painting from an early age, Frédéric MENGUY trained in evening classes at the workshops of the city of Paris. In 1956, then a professor of art drawing, he devoted himself entirely to painting and lithography. From 1966, after discovering the Corbières massif where he settled for a time, his painting became very colorful. Patrice de la Perrière paid tribute to him by stating that behind a joy that is intended to be ostentatious, the paintings of Frédéric MENGUY send us back a certain nostalgia for our childlike soul. The works of Frédéric MENGUY are featured in many renowned private collections. Some have also been acquired by the French State.
