Art Deco period sculpture circa 1925 in polychrome porcelain enhanced with gold signed by the famous ceramic artist Camille Tharaud (1878-1956) forming a night light representing a composition in the Orientalist style delicately typified Art Deco featuring an embracing couple, seated on a checkerboard terrace. Listed model titled "Sultan" appearing in the photo on the cover of the book -Camille Tharaud "The Art of Grand Feu Porcelain'' by the author Jean-marc Ferrer, Lucien Souny edition 1997- Dimensions: 21 cm x 17 cm x 15 cm. Very good general condition, electricity up to standard while having retained its original elements in burgundy bakelite. Signature of the artist located under the base with the stamp of the Limoges factory bearing the mention Lemovices symbolizing the Gallic People who left their name to Limoges and which means -Those who conquer by the elm- In 1915, Camille Tharaud (Limoges, France 1878-1956) tireless researcher, developed grand feu enamels, a still unequaled technique consisting of coloring the enamel in its thickness before firing. A feat which earned him the highest distinction at the Decorative Arts Exhibition in 1925 His pieces were exhibited in Paris (Salon of Decorative Artists, 1928-1933), at the Universal Exhibition of 1937 and even in New York (Collective Exhibition of Limoges Porcelain Makers, 1939)
