Bronze with brown and dark green patina - a visible mark on the left side of the belly. (see photo). Some minor wear. The sculptor: Graduated from the Tokyo School of Fine Arts in 1908. 1920 - 1921, moved to Paris - Studied with Rodin. - 1923 he created the Takinogawa Sculpture Institute, and taught the younger generations -- In 1926 he helped to set up the Expressionist Art exhibition, which would be the only one organized in Japan on this movement. - 1937 - He was one of the architects of the Pan-Pacific Peace Exhibition in Nagoya.
