A pair of curtain tiebacks with tassels in cream and sky-blue silk passementerie dating from the Second Empire. A long bell cord ending in the same tieback is included. Remarkable work by a 19th-century French passementerie maker, particularly in the work of the wooden supports covered with silk threads, the tassels and the braided cords. Long length of sliding cords. The cream silk is worn mainly on the cords, missing on one of the sliding wooden supports (see last two photos). A period patina without calling into question the solidity of the object. Average condition.
Dimensions: Height of tassel fringes 23 cm, total height of each tieback approximately 83 cm.
