Natural Tone Straw Marquetry Box With Elongated Shape
The lid has sloping sides for this pretty folk art box in straw marquetry with a superb patina. This box offers several styles of marquetry designs in a harmony of natural tones and its format is quite unusual in this so-called "tomb" shape. This suggests to us that this box dates from the Charles X era, this is all the more likely with the presence at the bottom of a domino paper from the same period. It has a yellow fabric inside.
