"Master's Wall Console In Carved Wood With Lion Decoration, 19th Century Folk Art "
Miniature wall console in richly carved wood, with doubly swaying legs ending in leonine paws, the uprights decorated with foliate and floral motifs, the belt animated in its center by a lion's muzzle caught in a network of reticulated volutes and flowers, surmounting a dangling and quadrifoliate acorn. The spacer in a diamond-shaped apron decorated with a fawn's muzzle, tongue out, in the center of a scalloped shield circumscribed by efflorescences. Remarkable work of 19th century mastery. Height 31 cm - width 54 cm - depth 27 cm. Good overall condition. There are some discreet restorations and tiny losses. The removable spacer is placed on the dowels present at the level of the feet and on the rear upright. Two metal fixings (protruding from the back of the top and removed for the time of the photos), allow a possible wall hanging. Laid flat, the piece of furniture is quite stable and allows the display of light objects. Do not hesitate to contact me for any further information or to receive additional photographs.
