Sumptuous baroque style monstrance in solid silver and vermeil of the first title, hallmark of the guarantee of the city of Ghent for the period 1831-1868. Glass custodian surrounded by golden rays which gives it the appearance of the sun. Master goldsmith Henri Decurte active from 1848 to 1868. Stunning finesse and quality of execution. The figures in the round as well as the bouquets of flowers are of astonishing realism. The style, proportions and decorations of this piece are inspired by those of the beginning of the eighteenth century.
