The main tribes are the Tekke, the Yomud, the Kizil-Ayak, the Djafarbay, the Göklan and others. These Turkmen rugs, which were knotted in the first part of the 20th century, have a very fine knot and a silky, patinated wool. The cities of Bukhara and Samarkand, which are now in Uzbekistan, were for hundreds of years important cities on the Silk Road. Contact me for more information and to know the conditions of sale.
